Bracy & Jahr, Inc. is a third-generation masonry contractor serving Southern Michigan. Founded by brothers-in-law Lauren Bracy and Ted Jahr, the early days consisted of constructing one basement a day, from dawn to dusk.

Their knowledge of masonry stemmed from Ted’s father Ernie, who was a bricklayer, and Ernie’s uncle, an immigrant from Germany. Lauren and Ted expanded upon this knowledge through union apprenticeships, with Lauren ultimately serving as a member of the Bricklayers’ Union for more than 50 years.

From such humble beginnings, the company would ultimately grow to 120 employees and complete a wide range of commercial, industrial, educational, and institutional projects.

Bracy and Jahr, Inc. strives to be fair, honest, and professional in all aspects of the trade. In doing so, the company has developed a well-respected reputation amongst architects, general contractors, and others in the construction industry.
